Director’s Statement
I wanted to come up with a suspense thriller story that still allows you to care about both characters by the end due to the content of what their personal emotions where towards what they were doing. Although the situation calls for the audience to not understand what the brothers are doing, they ultimately care about their backgrounds and the reason that put them in the situation that they are in. I want the protagonists story to convey the realization of what is going on in today’s society. Also I wanted to reach into the mind of a veteran and his story. I wanted the audience to see the affect of some, not all, veterans that work so hard for a country, but in his eyes, doesn’t give him the same respect.
The theme of the film is de‐saturated. I want to use of de‐ saturated color to convey the suspenseful feel of the film. Most nearly to my heart, is the will of the military as I served honorably in the United States Air Force, I wanted to adapt the story around a war stricken serviceman. Although he ultimately seals his fate due to his personal run in with his past, I wanted to symbolize the affects of war on our men and women of service. I wanted to have the protagonist’s story to connect with the loss of his wife and the effect of the things going on around him. Not only will he connect and be cared about by the audience but I wanted him to have a connection with the son of Dr. Dowd in the scene in order to relate it to the loss of his child. Movies you should watch that you can compare
